An Intergenerational Forest School course with a twist (7 sessions) – Age 3 years – 11 years ‘’rhyming renegades’’
Join an intergenerational fortnightly immersion in nature/forest school programme taking place at Wilderness Woods between May and September.  We want renegades of all ages to come together and meet in the wilderness for 7 sessions of adventure, music, bushcraft around a fire and making friendships.  Based on the pilot project undertaken by Unite the Beat last year (in collaboration with TTB and Bee in the Woods), the project seeks to reduce isolation and promote community for all members.
The pilot project was described as creating a family type environment with all generations benefitting.  Some parents said their families lived far away and they really enjoyed the intergenerational contact, getting to know other parents and seeing their children flourish as they adventure in nature.  Older people said they loved getting outside and that spending time with children and younger people made them feel younger.  That they had something to look forward to and that the activities were exciting.
This year’s iteration will be a collaboration between Little Forest School, Unite the Beat and Impetus.
Unite the Beat will co-facilitate and document sounds from tailored music in nature sessions, composing unique music and accompanying footage for the group.  A wonderful way to engage in nature and a beautiful way to share and save memories.  You can find out more about their work here https://www.unitethebeat.co.uk  and last year’s project here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7N4LIANVmk

Our unique Forest school session is led by experienced leader Mel who will co-facilitate, offering opportunities for free play and exploration. Activities may include seasonal arts and crafts, foraging, campfire cooking, using simple tools, mud play and potions, shelter building and more.

Impetus runs a neighborhood care scheme and befriending service (among other projects) and will coordinate our older participants.

This is for parents and their child to come and spend some time in the wood with a wonderful group of people! The parents are normally highly involved in this too!   Intergenerational but also for home educated children, home educating parents, pre-schoolers and their baby siblings…to come together for 7 sessions. These sessions run across the summer holidays, as well as term time and we invite other family members to join in if they can, older bros/sis who maybe at school etc in term time!
