Nut Oven – With Lucy and Mel

We will take a walk in the woods in search of the Hazel tree. Are there any nuts for us or has someone
got here first? We will examine any nut shells left behind to try and guess who has been eating the nuts.
Was it the Squirrels or Wood Mice? Maybe we will find evidence of a Nut Hatch or even the illusive Dormice.
If the woodland animals have been feasting we will cook some Kentish Cobnuts instead. We will make a nut oven
from sand and light a small stick fire on top. While the fire burns we should have time to toast a few marshmallows
or make some popcorn. When the nuts are cooked we will crack them open to share.
Age: 6 years plus – accompanying adults can drop off or welcome to come along.
